Interesting quote from WC, JP.
I'm not sure about what form of government is better. I do kind of agree with Plato but I can't find the quote I think it goes something like this: "Governments degrade into Democracy and that the best one could hope for in his day was a benevolent dictatorship".
To me for Democracy to be good depends on the intelligence of the people in the democracy, because how can the people rule if they don't know anything about the thing they are voting on. Democratic elections in the USA play on the ignorance of the people, myself included and so it's a crap shoot. If intelligent people are making better decisions then that's good but how can one vote beneficially if they know nothing about the subject . I think Plato's government of choice was not a democracy but Aristocracy where the best qualified for ruling were in power.
